Government Funding

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) began the implementation of the National Insurance Disability Scheme (NDIS) in 2016 following a successful trial period. Upon fulfilling the eligibility criteria, families and individuals are supported with plans highlighting specific needs for daily personal activities, community activities including transportation, employment, therapeutic supports, personal independence building, home modifications, mobility equipment and vehicle modification.

We are not a NDIS registered organisation therefore we cannot service NDIS Agency Managed clients. However, we can service Self Managed and Plan Managed NDIS clients.

Medicare

Chronic Disease Management Medicare Funding (10970)

The Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care Plan) is completed by a General Practitioner (GP) for children requiring medical/ allied health assistance. If you have been given a Chronic Disease Management Plan including Speech Therapy by your GP, you may be eligible to receive a partial Medicare rebate for up to 5x Speech Therapy sessions per calendar year. You are still required to pay the full amount of all sessions on the day of the sessions. Please refer to your GP to know your eligibility.

PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder) / Allied Health Professional Medicare Funding (Assessment: 82005, Treatment: 82020)

This funding is organised by your Paediatrician for all children under 15 who have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder or Pervasive Developmental Disorder. It provides 20 partially rebated sessions for Speech Pathology, Psychology and/or Occupational Therapy for a person’s life. Four of these are available for assessment and sixteen for therapy, totalling 20 sessions. As with above, you are still required to pay the full amount of sessions on the day of the appointment.

Private Health Rebates

Private Health Insurance rebates are also available for Speech Therapy services. Voice Within Speech Pathology is a registered provider for Private Health companies. The ability to access this funding is determined by your level of cover and/ or if you have selected “Speech Pathology” as one of your Allied Health Services that is claimable. To access this funding option, you will still need to pay the full amount of your session on the day of your session, however when you have shared the receipt to your Private Health Provider, you can receive a rebate. Please contact your Private Health Provider for information regarding rebate amounts/ restrictions.

What are your fees for NDIS Plan Managed sessions?

Our fees for NDIS Plan Managed sessions are in accordance with the NDIS set fees at the current time. Please refer to the latest NDIS pricing arrangements on the NDIS website.

How much is the rebate for Chronic Disease Management sessions?

The current Medicare rebate amount for these sessions is $60.35. You can receive the Medicare rebate after the full session fee is paid.

How do we claim under Private Health Insurance for sessions?

At present, these claims require manual claiming by clients. As soon as fees are processed and a receipt is issued, you can use this for claiming purposes.
